In the meantime, a  day after we closed on the house and started demolition, it started snowing. Snow isn’t anything out of the ordinary in December in Wisconsin so we did out duty of shoveling and enjoyed the powdery white mess.

Little did we know that the winter of 2007/08 was going to crush all previous records. It just kept on snowing, one storm rolled in after another with usually at least 4 inches of snow.

And with the snow also came the cold temperatures, so that stuff never really melted away and the piles grew taller and taller.

So I don’t know what the official record numbers are, but the previous record was around 72 inches for Madison and we got around 120 inches of snow that winter. I am glad I got to be part of that one.
